MP: What is a common natural growing plant that can be used to rid illness?

TC: Cannabis, marijuana.

MP: Have you ever known anyone who sold drugs?

TC: Grant, is a drug dealer. Don’t worry, he doesn’t sell crack, cocaine, or pills, all he sells is weed. Tomorrow Grant will be charged with possession and intent to sell of marijuana, a half pound to be exact. He will be arrested and put in jail.

MP: Do you feel people can use Marijuana other than to get high?

TC: (My friend) Mike smoked marijuana mostly as a medicine. Of course he likes getting high. But he mainly smokes to better himself; to relieve himself from his usual stressful, tight wound mind set. You see usually when mike is sober he get stressed out easily which in return gets him pissed off and then it sucks to hang out with him. Even though this is not a medical condition he still uses marijuana to make himself relax.

MP: What diseases have researchers found marijuana to be helpful with?

TC: Researchers have identified cannabis as being beneficial in treating some of worst diseases like Cancer, Glaucoma, Multiple Sclerosis, and even Aids. Nausea is one effect of diseases like cancer and Aids that marijuana can treat. Although marijuana effects many people differently is can relieve mild to moderate nausea. Patients who contract Aids usually get so nauseous that they cant eat, which in return makes them lose weight. By smoking pot Aids patients are able to calm their stomach enough to not starve themselves.

MP: Have you ever smoked marijuana?

TC: (After a bad car accident) A friend of mine who habitually smokes pot came over and suggested that I smoke and see what it does for my pain. He said he has heard of people smoking to relieve headaches. Figuring I had nothing to lose I tried it and go figure it took all my pain away. For the next couple days I tried it with and without my other pain medications. I realized that when I smoked with out my other meds it helped me enough to where it was bearable and I felt normal. And when I was in extreme pain I could just take one of my heavy drugs, Vicodins.

MP: What did your doctor say about this new discovery?

TC: He said that it was pretty common for people to use marijuana as a pain reliever, but there was only one problem, it was illegal. He informed me that if I would like to take the risk because of the benefits he would let me. He also said he would lower my doses of Vicodins just in case I still needed them.
