Narrative

I am a college student, trying to budget my life and it is very hard. I wish there was a place that I could go for ideas on how to budget my money and live like a rock star. I wish there was place that I could go that would help me budget my whole life. The web site of my dreams would give me everything from where to get my car fixed. Where can I get fashionable clothes at a reasonable price? I live with my parents but I want to have a designer room. I want to prove that I can transition successfully from a child to an adult.

I have read many stories of other students that have so much debt because they thought that the only way to survive was to take out loans and get credit cards. That is not how I want to step out of college. I would like to find a place that provides help choosing loans and credit cards designed for college students. Money is a big issue, especially if do not come from a wealthy family. I would like to learn to budget my money effectively.

It is always hard to find a place to get school supplies, computers, and books at a low rate. I need a place that provides assistance in obtaining these supplies. After you pay for tuition and purchase supplies, the rest of your money is just eaten up. I want to be able to live comfortably. I do not want to always worry about whether I am will eat or pay for a book.

Another helpful resource would be an online job center for students. A listing of jobs in my major would be great, as well as other jobs outside my major. Sometimes you just need to find a part time job you enjoy. Even just a job list could be available. Working while attending college teaches students to multitask and be able to function in the real world. Right now the newspaper is the only resource I have, and it does not provide enough information.

As shallow as it may sound, I want to live like a rock star. I wish I appeared wealthy to others. I want to be sure that my ATM card won’t be declined, so I do not have to shy away in embarrassment. College has proved quite difficult for me, and they say that these are best years of our lives. Why should money be something we worry about? However, I agree that we need to start learning to act like adults.

My proposed function for this site is to inform, encourage, and promote college student, while teaching them important skills and lessons. The site would educate students on how to have a watchful eye, and most importantly, clip coupons. I want my site to connect everybody, and I also want feed back

1. should a narrative have some personal style and does is matter if your narrative is not all fact?

2. Is learning how to decorate your page easy?

Felesha- I like your paper and the way it is going. I remixed and edited some of the paper, but I think you need to get rid of all the “I would” and “I wants”. It seems a good portion of the sentences start that way. You start out going in a good direction, but I think you need to put in some sources and reference material. Also, it would probably help to include more personalized information about your own struggles to help the reader connect. I definitely agree with your point…college is expensive and a lot of times the focus turns to cost and not to the education you are getting. Let me know if you need any other feedback.
